About This Must Be The Plate

I started This Must Be The Plate in 2022.  I kept seeing these beautiful plates in charity shops & car boot sales, (which were really expensive when they were at the height of their popularity in the 80's & 90's) unloved & now considered worthless.

An antiques dealer once told me that plates like this were "the biggest scam of the era" people paid a small fortune for them & now they're worth nothing..... the Beanie Bears of the 80's if you will!

I love ALL music but especially Talking Heads (hence the name) and I have very eclectic taste, but generally like a bit of everything.

In the same vein, I also upcycle figurines, these are harder to find at a reasonable price so I don't find as many of them as I do the plates but they are great fun to do.

Whilst consumerism is at an all time high, you and I are buying pre-loved, recycling & playing a tiny part in saving the planet. 

With my ethos of sustainability still in mind, wherever possible & where it makes sense to do so, I always strive use recycled packaging for my items.
